Ontario Pledges Help For Haiti $1 Million To Help Earthquake Victims

January 15th – The Ontario government is providing $1 million in immediate emergency aid to help the people of Haiti recover from an earthquake that devastated the country on Tuesday.

The money will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to support the global relief effort.

Ontario also reiterated its offer to the federal government to provide any personnel and equipment required for the relief effort. The province has offered expertise in health care, search and rescue, forensic services and clean drinking water.
